Q. Today is 12/25/2002 and my daughter received a fingernail kit for Christmas and she got nail glue on her cotton pants, is there anything out there that I can get to take the stain out and the hardness of the glue?

A. This is a difficult one as there are so many different glues. Usually the manufacturers put a note on the packaging as to which remedy is best for their particular product. Obviously nail glue has to be fairly strong and, therefore, it will be more difficult to remove.

I cannot guarantee results, any remedy undertaken is done so at your own risk. You could try hot vinegar, failing this an acetone such as nail varnish remover or methylated spirits, but these could have adverse effects on the fabric/dye.

The instructions for removing the nails may hold the key as to the best solvent to use for this product. If they supply a special solvent for this purpose it may be worth trying it on the stain - I MUST STRESS this is only a suggestion I cannot guarantee results.
